DC restaurants and culinary venues are also showing their love for Lincoln by serving up with creative dishes and special events with presidential flair.

Foodies can snag a seat at Lincoln’s Inaugural Ball, recreated at The Willard InterContinental Hotel on March 6 by the Smithsonian Associates. Lincoln re-enactor James Getty will provide after-dinner remarks in his portrayal of the incumbent president as guests feast on selections from the dinner at the hotel where Lincoln stayed before his first inauguration.

At Mie N Yu in Georgetown (3125 M St. NW, 202-333-6122), order a featured entrée priced at $18.09 in honor of Lincoln’s birth year and tuck into an “Abe-hat-tan” cocktail to celebrate the president and his famous top hat. This classic Manhattan will be made with Knob Creek Bourbon in homage of the Kentucky town where Lincoln was born.

Diners can sample some of Lincoln’s favorite dishes at other DC eateries. Nodding to Lincoln’s rumored penchant for scalloped oysters, Hank’s Oyster Bar (1624 Q St. NW, 202-462-4265) is cooking up this scrumptious seafood delight.

B. Smith’s (50 Massachusetts Ave. NE, 202-289-6188) is staying true to its Southern roots, honoring the man that held the country together by serving one of his favorite desserts, Sweet Almond Cake.

British-inspired hotspot CommonWealth Gastropub (1400 Irving St. NW, 202-265-1400) is saluting the president with the “Honest Abe” cocktail, a wintery blend of spiced batter, apple cider and Maker’s Mark.

Try an Applejack Old Fashioned at Acadiana (901 New York Ave. NW, 202-408-8848), Ceiba (701 14th St. NW, 202-393-3983), DC Coast (1401 K St. NW, 202-216-5988), PassionFish (11960 Democracy Drive, 703-230-FISH), TenPenh (1001 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, 202-393-4500) in honor of Lincoln’s early career as a tavern proprietor. This tasty cocktail includes Laird’s Applejack, a bourbon from Lincoln’s home state of Kentucky, for only $5  - the bill featuring Lincoln’s sweet smile.

To celebrate Lincoln’s birthday week, The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C.’s signature restaurant, Westend Bistro by Eric Ripert, will offer Lincoln’s favorite dessert, Lemon Custard Pie, for the price of a “Lincoln Cent.”  The Lemon Pie will be available starting Sunday, Feb. 8th through the following Sunday, February 15th.
